Hardware
The ZMPT101B sensor is used to measure AC voltage in the range 0 – 240V, yielding a directly correlated output in the range 0 – 5V DC when operating with a 5V supply. The maximum output voltage, however, can be adjusted via an on-board trimpot. Given that the ESP32 ADC accepts inputs in the range 0 – 3.3V, for digital output in the range 0 - 4095, the trimpot needs to be adjusted, in the first instance, to deliver a maximum output of 3.3V. Fine adjustment can then be further made to calibrate the reported output to the actual voltage measured independently with a multimeter.
